Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), through its Faculty of Leadership and Management (FKP), welcomed a delegation from International Islamic University Chittagong (IIUC) led by Prof. Dr. Mohammad Hasmat Ali, Pro Vice-Chancellor, for a visit to discuss opportunities to strengthen academic collaboration between the two institutions.

The meeting focused on renewing or extending the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which the parties noted was due to expire in August 2026. Discussions also covered student mobility opportunities, including short-term programmes during academic holidays, as well as possible accommodation arrangements for visiting students.

Both sides explored pathways for student progression and admission to master’s and PhD programmes, including relevant entry criteria. The meeting also considered opportunities for joint research, matching-fund initiatives, and collaborative publications, with a particular interest in producing research suitable for Q1 and Q2 journals.

Other areas discussed included a possible “Human Library” initiative and further academic engagement between FKP and the partner institution. These discussions reflect a shared interest in developing practical collaboration that benefits students and academics at both universities.

The visit provided an opportunity for both institutions to identify potential areas of cooperation and consider the next steps towards strengthening their partnership.
