29 Jan – In an effort to formulate regional cooperation, Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) has signed two Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with UIN Syarif Hidayatullah and UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung, and one Letter of Intent (LoI) with Universitas Islam Djakarta.

According to discussions held, the Vice-Chancellor of USIM, Prof. Dato’ Ts Dr Sharifudin Md Shaarani, stated that the newly forged collaboration aims to enhance USIM’s international cooperation at the regional level, focusing on educational initiatives, research, mobility programs, and more.

“In our efforts to become a reference university by 2025, USIM needs to further expand its collaborative relationships with external universities or institutions, particularly to introduce USIM and its expertise for the purpose of sharing knowledge and more,” he added.

For your information, USIM currently has MoU/MoA collaborations with over 37 universities in Indonesia previously, and numerous collaborations have been achieved, whether through expertise sharing, appointment as keynote speakers, international webinar and seminar series. USIM presently hosts active students from Indonesia, totaling more than 61 individuals at both graduate and undergraduate levels.

USIM opens its chapter for 2024 this year by organizing a working visit that includes discussions with student agent representatives in Indonesia and also meeting with Alumni Chapter leaders in Indonesia.
