On the 22th April 2024, the Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia has officially recognized USIM (Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia), cementing a pivotal partnership between the two nations in the realm of academia. This recognition paves the way for enhanced cooperation and opportunities for students from Saudi Arabia to pursue higher education at USIM.

After several visits and the submission of USIM’s academic background profile, Dr. Fahad, the Cultural Attaché of the Saudi Arabia Cultural Mission, has expressed satisfaction with the explanations provided. As a result, he has recommended that USIM be listed as one of the recognized universities by the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Higher Education.

During his visit last year on November 20th, Dr. Fahad expressed his satisfaction with the facilities that USIM offers to students across various academic disciplines.

“I am impressed by the facilities at USIM, which are on par with those of universities abroad. This is my first visit to USIM, and I will propose to the Ministry to consider recognizing it,” he remarked.

The recognition by the Saudi Ministry of Higher Education underscores the academic excellence and quality of education offered by USIM, particularly in the fields of Islamic studies, science, and technology. With this acknowledgment, USIM joins the ranks of esteemed institutions endorsed by the Saudi government, further solidifying its position as a premier destination for higher learning.

This recognition not only benefits prospective students from Saudi Arabia but also opens avenues for extensive international networking and collaboration between USIM and academic institutions in Saudi Arabia. It fosters the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and cultural understanding, enriching the educational experience for students and faculty alike.

The Vice-Chancellor of USIM, Prof Dato’ Ts Dr Sharifudin Md Shaarani expressed his gratitude for the recognition and hoping this is the starting platform for USIM to be known globally.

“We are honored to receive this endorsement from the Ministry of Higher Education in Saudi Arabia. This recognition reflects our commitment to academic excellence and our dedication to nurturing global leaders of tomorrow. We look forward to welcoming students from Saudi Arabia and fostering meaningful collaborations that will contribute to the advancement of education and research,” the Vice-Chancellor said.
