NILAI, 14 July 2026 – Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM) and Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sjech M. Djamil Djambek Bukittinggi, Indonesia, officially renewed their Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, reaffirming both institutions’ commitment to advancing academic collaboration and strengthening regional higher education partnerships.

The renewed MoU serves as a foundation for collaborative initiatives in student, academic staff, researcher, and administrative personnel mobility, joint academic programmes, research and innovation activities, as well as the exchange of academic publications and educational resources.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, USIM Vice Chancellor, Professor Dato’ Ts. Dr. Sharifudin Md Shaarani, highlighted that the partnership reflects the shared commitment of both universities to promoting academic excellence based on mutual respect, equality, and shared benefits. He expressed confidence that the renewed collaboration would pave the way for impactful initiatives in education, research, and human capital development.

The MoU signing marks another significant milestone in USIM’s continuous efforts to expand its international network and foster meaningful collaborations with leading higher education institutions across the region, in line with its aspiration to become a globally recognised Islamic university.
