4 Sept – A total of 88 students and six accompanying teachers from four Indonesian schools, namely Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Kota Malang, Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 2 Ponorogo, Madrasah Aliyah Negeri 1 Lamongan, and Pesantren Al-Muttaqin Tasik Malaya, participated in the Islamic Global School Network (IGSN) Jamboree 2023.
I-GSN 2023 is an annual program hosted by USIM ‘Alamiyyah and is a signature event for Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM). It follows the concept of Edutourism as a method to introduce USIM specifically and Malaysia in general.
This mobility program aims to provide holistic exposure, encompassing academic, leadership, sports, culture, character, and spiritual aspects. It also offers students the opportunity to experience campus life “hands on” and serves as a platform to promote international student enrollment for postgraduate studies at USIM.
During IGSN this time, participants had the chance to engage in exciting activities such as Group Dynamics, Campus Tour, USIM Admission Briefing, Exploring Faculty (Learning Space) @ USIM, and a Cultural Exchange during the Cultural Night. Additionally, they were exposed to the unique architecture, history, and culture by visiting interesting and popular places around Putrajaya, Seremban, and Kuala Lumpur, including Nasyrul Quran, IOI Mall, Cruise Tasik Putrajaya, Masjid Sendayan, Muzium Negeri, Muzium Kesenian Islam, KLCC, and Pasar Seni.
Participants were overall impressed and highly satisfied with the program’s content and expressed their desire to participate and send their students to IGSN 2024.
IGSN Jamboree 2023, held from August 14 to 19, 2023, marked the 9th summer program organized by USIM ‘Alamiyyah in collaboration with USIM ‘Alamiyyah Global Buddies and the International Student Association (INSAN). The program spanned seven days and featured a variety of engaging activities that provided meaningful experiences for all participants.
